Dampers for steelworks
These are dampers that are specially designed and manufactured for use under the demanding operating conditions found in smelters and steel mills.
We provide designs tailored to the particular application to deal with the generally high volumes of furnace gas, process air and exhaust gas encountered. Multi-vane dampers connected via a rod are mainly used in steelworks. This ensures the vanes move in harmony.
Sealing variants of valves and dampers for steelworks
Our product portfolio includes butterfly and double shut-off dampers with sealing air for 100% tightness and throttle dampers for optimum control. These are mainly metal sealing (e.g. with spring plates), but also soft sealing. Fans and heating registers for the sealing air are also provided, depending on requirements. We supply an optimally tailored solution in every case.
Special requirements for the steel industry
In steelworks in particular, a minimum leakage volume needs to be maintained at times. This means that the damper should not be tight, but must exhibit a minimum leakage of, for example, 2%. In addition, particular attention must be paid to dust content, high temperatures still prevailing in some cases and corrosive gases in the steel industry. In addition to coated solutions, we provide steel and stainless-steel dampers for this purpose.
Electric or pneumatic actuators and manually operated gears can be used as drives.
