Foresight rather going it alone!

Some weeks ago, I met with our colleagues from JFE Engineering. Our goal was to lay a foundation on which European industrial plants will be able to stand for the next twenty years.

Today it is official. The Japanese JFE Engineering Corporation is acquiring a 45% stake in EnergieLink Holding AG. By taking this step, we are entering into a strategic partnership that is far more than just an equity stake.

The reason for it lies in the market itself. Many energy-from-waste (EfW) plants in Europe are getting a little long in the tooth. The focus now is not on building new plants but on modernisation and efficiency.

It is precisely in this regard that EnergieLink and JFE Engineering are the perfect fit for one another. We contribute our strength in maintenance, modernisation, spare parts and engineering for EfW and industrial plants, while JFE Engineering brings decades of experience in planning, constructing and operating EfW plants in Japan and other international markets. To put it differently, we combine two foundations into one structure.

There will be no change to the leadership for customers. The organisation of EnergieLink will remain as it is. I am still the Chairman of the Executive Board and the Board of Directors and the majority shareholder. I look forward to a future with strong prospects, in line with the following principle:
